About This Festival
The Zapata County Fair was first established in 1978 and has continually grown to become one of the most exciting fairs in all of Texas. In fact, it is known as “The Biggest Little Town Fair in Texas.” Many hard working volunteers and the board of directors diligently work to make the Zapata County Fair an annual success. Exciting activities and attractions include the trail ride, jalapeño eating contest, carnival rides, Queen’s Contest, and livestock events.
