About Festivals, Craft Shows and Fairs in Wyoming

Wyoming is the most sparsely-populated state in the whole of the USA, so it’s a perfect location for solitude and contemplation, particularly if you like to explore the wilderness of the great outdoors. It’s a conservative state full of chances to hike, climb and trek, with plenty of opportunities to stretch your legs. The state also offers many interesting events throughout the year, with a great program of festivals for adventurers and casuals alike.

Cheyenne Frontier Days has been a family tradition for over a century, and claims to be the biggest rodeo event on the planet. So if you’re seeking a rooting-tooting, spur-sporting, hat-draped few days, you can’t look beyond this. The event offers parades, bull-riding shows, free pancake breakfasts, horse races, cook-offs, art shows, a saloon, dances and more. The big highlight is the main rodeo, which offers more than $1 million in cash prizes, while the Native American town features some of the best insights available into Native American culture. There is also plenty of hearty old-school food to fill your belly and widen your smile. Slip into your chequered shirt and join the party! The Cody Stampede is another Wild West wonder for those who can’t get enough of their cowboy capers.

Grand Teton Music Festival is a slightly more classy affair, and offers seven weeks of orchestras and symphonies, with a fantastic selection of violins, cellos, pianos and some great names from all over the states. The event is managed by the acclaimed Maestro Donald Runnicles, and has been exhilarating classical music fiends since 1962. The festival also features classes, clinics, talks, student performances, scholarships and lots of other community outreach opportunities. It’s diverse and varied and offers something spectacular, whatever your taste.

Wyoming’s Big Show, also known as the Sweetwater Fair, is a five-day family event full of attractions and events. It’s an old-fashioned fair-style festival with carnival rides, sideshows, livestock, concerts and more. There are also a range of tasty treats and delectable delights along with exhibitions, horse-riding, races, clowns, animals, magic shows and musicians. No matter your age, no matter your style, there’s something here for you – grab a fist of cotton candy and make yourself at home!
