About Festivals, Craft Shows and Fairs in Indiana

The Hoosier state of Indiana is a chilled-out place of comfort and cool. Notably laid-back and slow-placed, the corn-rich state is a great place to relax and put your feet up. But it’s also a fantastic location for a festival, and each year Indiana delivers many great events for comers of all ages.

The most notable Indiana festival is undoubtedly the Indy 500, which for many defines the entire state. Over Memorial Day weekend, hundreds of thousands of speed freaks descend upon the asphalt of Indiana to feel the thrills and spills of one of the best and most prestigious racing events in the entire world. The weekend also plays host to the Indy 500 Festival and parade, which is a huge festival dedicated to celebrating the event. The parade features music, floats, celebrities and more, while other related events offer food, drink and sports.

Whiting Pierogi Festival gives food fans the chance to gorge themselves on a varied array of tasty Eastern European treats. The festival celebrates the Eastern European heritage and history of Whiting, and tempts attendees with pierogis, pastries, baked goods and more. It’s a great place to sample the unique and delicious delights of Eastern European cuisine along with traditional entertainment and activities. Bring your babushka and treat yourself to three continental days of food, music, events and more!

For nine days each July, downtown Peru is dominated by gaggling groups of potty performers. Circus City Festival converts the entire area into a temporary theme park with rides, food, drinks, games, entertainment and attractions full of family-friendly fun. You’ll find performers, music and more, with a packed program of over 200 clowns, trapeze acts, jugglers, daredevils and anything else which you might expect to find in the wacky world of the Big Top.

The Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival offers attendees a feast of dulcet tones in one of the longest-running celebrations of bluegrass sounds, sights and vibes. Over 65 local and national groups descend upon Indiana to entertain and delight with their traditional and tuneful sets. The festival also includes discussions, workshops and other special events dedicated to the genre. If you’re eager to make the most of the few days, you can take your tent, camp out and really relax.
