The 2016 Fingal Film Festival will take place from 30th September to 2nd October 2016 at Pavilions Centre, Swords, Co Dublin. Now in its fifth year, the Festival connects emerging voices in film with industry experts and independent creative filmmakers from around the world. The programme will feature shorts, documentaries, and animation as well as student and international films, Irish language films by emerging and established filmmakers, which will be in the running for the prestigious awards.
There is a total of nine awards up for grabs this year. The categories are: Best Short Film, Best Documentary, Best Feature Film, Best Animation Film, Best Student Film, ScannĂ¡n Gaeilge Is Fearr (Best Irish Language Film) and Best Fingal Newcomer (Director / Writer / Producer). The ninth category is for Outstanding Media Achievements (Documentary / Journalism / Director / Producer / Writer).
The Festival will feature film screenings and various workshops.
